Sometimes the students ask for the guidance of scoring in Speaking Test of Language Class in PTIK. Here I present you the one.

Band :9
Description : EXPERT USER.
Fully operational command of the language;
appropriate, accurate and fluent with complete understanding

Band : 8
Description :VERY GOOD USER.
Fully operational command of the language;
Occasional minor inaccuracies, inappropriacies and misunderstandings possible in unfamiliar situations. in some situations.

Band : 7
Description: GOOD USER.
Operational command of the language;
Occasional inaccuracies, inappropriacies and misunderstandings in some situations

Band : 6
Description: COMPETENT USER.
Generally effective command of the language, although occasional misunderstanding and lack of fluency could interfere with communication.

Band :5
Description : MODEST USER.
Partial command of the language coping with overall meaning in most situations, although some misunderstanding and lack of fluency can block communication.

Band : 4
Description : LIMITED USER.
Basic functional competence limited to familiar situations, but frequent problems in understanding and fluency can make communication a constant effort.

Band : 3
Description : EXTREMELY LIMITED USER.
Below level of functional competence;
Although general meaning can be conveyed and understood in simple situations, there are repeated breakdown in communication.

Band : 2
Description : INTERMITTENT USER.
No real communication possible although single-word messages may be conveyed and understood.

Band : 1
Description :NON-USER.
Unable to the language or does not provide relevant evidence of language competence for assessment.

Example :

If you just be able to say "How are you", or "I live in Flat B. I am 30 years old", and just it!!, you just reached the Band 3. Because we,teachers, don't get more information from you. They are just Basic functional competence limited to familiar situations, but frequent problems in understanding and fluency can make communication a constant effort. We don't get it! And we can only be able in giving you 30 - 39 for the score.

So guys, please add your knowledge in English. Gesture, grammatically correct conversation is needed. Practice your English with your friends, don't be shame. Ask your teachers and don't forget to keep on practicing!

Usually the topics of Speaking Test are : My Curriculum Vitae(= my career before joining PTIK) for UTT, and My Best Experience as a Police Officer for UAS.

Learn them. The best result can be reached from practices. English is skill!
