Sometimes without realizing it, we use and mix our knowledge and skills in languages. Believe me most of us are multi language speakers. Sometimes we learn English and some other languages in the same time so we speak some languages in one sentence in the same time! Well, not far enough, hehehe, me myself for example. Since I enjoy teaching in a class full of multicultural students, I talk in -just-for -fun English. Well, let's say it a
Glocalization!
Global and Local: English and Indonesia local languages are mixed so sometimes they taste just a little sandwich with gado-gado flavour or english tea with Gulo jowo (javanese brown sugar), hahaha...
For me teaching in class in that way can be very communicative considering it is so fun that attract the student's attention very much and communicative because sometimes it is answered in a joking way with the same dialect by the students and freshen the class air. :).
Voila! They like it!
Of course, in the serious teaching time, I seriously use the best grammatically correct English I got,;)!! (serious mimic mode:on)
In my 54 class, I also find one of my students, Heru Adrian, is a little confuse since he is learning Mandarin and English at the same time. Morning he learns English and another hour he learns Mandarin. So consequently he has to think hard to set up the grammar in English instead of Mandarin, hahaha ... ciaaaat!!
